Graceful and architectural, this Dendrobium Orchid showcases luminous blooms in vivid amethyst and rich violet, delicately layered with soft orchid-pink purple undertones and deeper velvety centres. The jewel-toned flowers rise above sculptural green canes and glossy emerald foliage, creating a display that feels both contemporary and timeless. Sophisticated in colour and form, it makes a truly memorable gift, perfect for birthdays, celebrations, thank you gestures or moments that call for something beautifully enduring. Unlike cut flowers, this is a living gift that continues to bloom and bring joy for weeks.
Beautiful yet easy to care for, the Dendrobium thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers light watering once the growing medium feels almost dry. Avoid overwatering and keep away from cold draughts to ensure long-lasting blooms.

Caring For Your Dendrobium Orchid
Lighting
Dendrobium orchids prefer bright, indirect light. A spot near an east- or south-facing window with filtered light is ideal. Too little light can prevent flowering, while strong direct midday sun may scorch the leaves.
Watering
Water when the potting mix begins to dry out, usually every 5–7 days during active growth. Dendrobiums like good drainage and should never sit in waterlogged compost. Reduce watering slightly in winter, especially for Nobile types which have a short rest period.
Humidity
Dendrobiums enjoy moderate to high humidity, ideally between 40% and 70%. They cope well in typical UK homes but appreciate occasional misting or a humidity tray, especially in centrally heated rooms.
Temperature
Most Dendrobium orchids prefer intermediate to warm temperatures, with daytime temperatures between 18°C and 26°C. Some types, such as Nobile Dendrobiums, benefit from cooler nights in autumn to help trigger flowering.
Fertilisation
Feed with a balanced orchid fertiliser every 2–3 weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during winter or when growth slows. Flush the potting mix occasionally with plain water to prevent salt build-up.
Repotting
Repot every 2–3 years or when the potting mix breaks down. Use a free-draining orchid bark mix and choose a pot that just fits the root system. Dendrobiums prefer to be slightly snug rather than overpotted.
About Dendrobium Orchids
Dendrobium orchids are one of the largest and most diverse orchid groups, native to Asia, Australia and the Pacific islands. Many species grow as epiphytes on trees, developing tall, reed-like canes that store water and nutrients. These canes produce clusters of elegant flowers that can last for weeks, making Dendrobiums a favourite among indoor orchid growers.
There are several main types of Dendrobium orchids grown as houseplants, including Nobile Dendrobiums, known for their flowers lining the length of the cane, and Phalaenopsis-type Dendrobiums, which produce sprays of blooms at the top of tall stems. With their graceful form, long-lasting flowers and wide range of colours, Dendrobium orchids are prized as decorative indoor plants that bring height, structure and natural beauty to the home.
