Please take a moment to review our terms and conditions carefully. These guidelines outline how you may use our website, the data we retain, and the level of service you can anticipate from us.

We want you to adore your orchids just as much as we do. If you are dissatisfied with any part of your orchid delivery, please inform us immediately so we can do everything possible to rectify the situation. You can contact us via email at hello@orchidplant.co.uk.

Our formal agreement with you commences once we send a notification confirming that your order is being processed.

Ordering

By placing an order on our website, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions, subject to our acceptance of your order. We reserve the right to decline your order if the specific orchid or product is no longer obtainable from our growers.

We will acknowledge receipt of your order by email, at which point you will be updated on its status. Once this order confirmation has been dispatched, a legally binding contract exists between orchidplant.co.uk (Trading Under Houseplant Ltd) and yourself.

Please verify that all details provided are accurate. We cannot accept liability for orders that fail to be delivered because of incorrect information supplied during the checkout process.

If we cannot fulfil your order for any reason, a full refund will be issued. Depending on your payment provider, these funds should appear as cleared in your bank account within 5–7 working days.

Delivery

We ship across the United Kingdom, with the exception of the locations listed below due to logistical restrictions:

  • The Channel Islands

  • The Republic Of Ireland

Furthermore, we are unable to deliver to PO BOX or BFPO addresses.

We strive to dispatch all orders promptly, aiming to ship within 1–3 working days (Monday through Thursday). Ensuring your orchids arrive in pristine condition is our main goal; therefore, we aim to utilise a 24-hour service via our trusted couriers. You will receive both an order confirmation and a dispatch notification to let you know when your parcel is en route.

Should there be a delay in the plants reaching us from the growers (a factor occasionally beyond our control), we aim to deliver your items within a 24-calendar-day window. We appreciate your patience regarding delivery timescales, as our primary focus is ensuring your orchids arrive in the best possible health, which may occasionally necessitate a short delay.

We will deliver to the address specified in your order. We cannot accept liability for any loss or damage to goods resulting from inaccurate address details provided by you. If a re-delivery is necessary because of incomplete or incorrect information you supplied, an additional delivery fee will be incurred. If the parcel is returned to us by DPD / DX as 'return to consignor' due to an error on your part during checkout, a fee of £10 will be payable (covering the charge levied on us by the courier for non-delivery). If you choose to arrange a redirection directly with the courier after dispatch, you do so at your own risk.

You may include delivery instructions during checkout, which we will pass on to the courier. If you request that items be left unattended, you assume full risk, and we cannot reimburse you for any theft or weather-related damage.

We do not accept returns simply due to a change of heart. The statutory right to cancel an order upon a change of mind does not extend to perishable goods, including orchids.

Beyond 7 days from the date of the initial delivery, you acknowledge that we cannot control the condition of the plants due to the care, atmospheric, and environmental conditions provided by you. Consequently, we hold no further liability regarding the plant given the perishable nature of our products.

Any specific delivery or collection timescales provided by the Company are estimates only. The Company shall not be deemed in breach of Contract, nor hold liability to the Customer (whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) for any failure to meet specified timescales for delivery or collection.

Cancelling Your Order

If you wish to cancel your order, please use our contact page or email hello@orchidplant.co.uk. We are only able to cancel orders that have not yet been dispatched. We reserve the right to apply a cancellation levy of 40% of the total order value, as every orchid is specifically sourced for you directly from the grower. Once dispatch has occurred, cancellation is no longer possible.

As stated previously, we do not accept returns based on a change of mind, as the legal right to cancel does not apply to perishable items such as plants.

Photographs of Plants & Product Listings

Please remember that we are dealing with living nature; every plant image on this website serves as an indication of the variety you will receive, rather than a guarantee of the exact shape or colour of the specific plant delivered. Nature and the weather dictate the growth of each of our orchids. While we strive to ensure every plant is robust and stunning, we cannot guarantee it will look identical to the photograph. (But honestly, isn't the surprise part of the joy of receiving a new orchid?).

Please also account for seasonal variations; plants purchased outside their peak growing season may appear slightly smaller.

We endeavour to provide an accurate depiction of the orchids and products we sell; however, please note that descriptions and photographs are intended as a guide only. Products will inevitably vary from the images shown, as it is impossible to photograph every single plant shipped.

Where feasible, plant maturity is depicted in our illustrations. However, if multiple sizes are available, the plant you receive may differ significantly in appearance.

If a specific plant size is unavailable, we may, at our discretion, supply a larger specimen at no extra cost to you.

Dimensions provided in product listings are approximate and include the full length of the stem, foliage, and the depth of the pot (including roots)—not merely the height from the soil line.

We hold the right to alter prices, increase costs, or withdraw special offers at any time without prior notice.

If we have inadvertently listed an incorrect price, we are not liable to supply goods at that price. Instead, we will notify you that we are exercising our right to cancel and will issue a full refund before dispatch occurs.

Payment is taken upon receipt of your order. If a payment is held by the provider, we reserve the right to delay dispatch until the funds have cleared and are received by us.

Ceramic & Decorative Pots

Although we strive for accuracy regarding our pot dimensions (both for nursery and decorative pots), growers utilise various suppliers. Consequently, there can be minor fluctuations in the diameter and depth of nursery pots. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a precision fit between our orchids and decorative pots.

All our pots are measured in-house, with the intention that the nursery pot fits inside the decorative pot without the rim being visible. The exception is when an orchid is supplied in a hanging pot or with a detachable hanger, as these often have a lip for the clip attachment. We recommend selecting a decorative pot at least 1cm larger when housing a hanging plant. Furthermore, hanging pots (or those with hangers) are often shallower than standard nursery pots, which may cause the plant to sit lower in a decorative container. In this case, you might consider repotting into a standard pot for shelf display, or propping the nursery pot up inside the decorative container using gravel or a smaller inverted pot to achieve the desired height.
