About Our Mystery Orchid Boxes

Bring effortless elegance into your home with our Orchid Mystery Box, curated exclusively by OrchidPlant.co.uk.

Each box contains three premium orchid plants, carefully selected by our growers to reflect beautiful colour hues of your chosen box. While the exact varieties will differ from the images shown, every orchid is chosen for its health, structure and long-lasting blooms — ensuring you receive the very best available at the time of dispatch.

This mystery box is ideal if you love the look of coordinated orchids but are happy to let the growers choose standout plants within your chosen colour palette. Expect elegant stems, glossy foliage and flowers that will continue to open and bloom for weeks with the right care.

Why choose a mystery box?

Our mystery boxes allow us to work directly with growers and select orchids at their absolute best. This means better quality plants, fresher stock and more distinctive varieties than fixed listings — while still keeping your chosen colour aesthetic front and centre.

Perfect for brightening a room, creating a cohesive display, or gifting something special that feels considered yet delightfully unexpected.

Caring For Your Orchids

Lighting
Bright, indirect light is ideal. A position near an east- or north-facing window works beautifully. Avoid strong, direct midday sun, which can scorch leaves and flowers. Dark green leaves often mean too little light, while pale or yellowing leaves suggest too much.

Watering
Allow the compost to dry slightly between waterings. Water around every 7–10 days, ensuring any excess drains away fully. In warmer months this may be more frequent, while in winter it can be less. Always water the compost rather than the leaves or crown, and never allow the plant to sit in standing water.

Humidity
Orchids thrive in a gently humid environment of around 40–70%. You can increase humidity by placing the pot on a tray of pebbles with water (making sure the pot does not sit in the water), grouping plants together, or lightly misting the air around the plant.

Temperature
Most orchids are happiest in normal indoor temperatures between 18°C and 24°C during the day. A slight drop at night is beneficial and can encourage flowering. Keep away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden temperature changes.

Fertilisation
Use a balanced orchid fertiliser every 2–4 weeks during the growing season (spring to early autumn). Reduce feeding in winter when growth slows.

Repotting
Repot every 1–2 years, or when the compost starts to break down. Use a specialist orchid mix and a pot just slightly larger than the root system. Trim away any dead or soft roots before repotting.
